Term 3 fun

Image
Again term 3 has been very busy for theButterfly room. we have said goodbye to some of our pupils and welcomed some new children into our group. We have had fun learning about Weather, Spring and Easter this term. Our Weather topic allowed us to look at the weather reports that the Met Office produce and we got to try and complete a weather chart based on what we had heard on the video. We never imagined that this term would bring us so many different types of weather to experience including nearly 50cm of snow! We enjoyed going outside to look for signs of Spring. The dry weather also meant that we could have some fun on the adventure trail as a group. We hope that as we get closer to the Easter holi day we will start to see more signs of Spring when we go on our outdoor walks. We wrote some Spring poems, Miss Burns and Mrs Carso n were very impressed with all the amazing descriptive words the children came up with. Well done everyone!

Term 2... wow that went fast!

Room 6 have been so busy during term 2. Our topic has been based around the book The Huge Bag of Worries. The children looked at what makes them worry and how we can help our worries. We created worry monsters using paint and straws, we then used google eyes and pen to finish them off. We also looked at Halloween and made magic wands after finding twigs in the playground, it was so much fun! Next up was bonfire night. We looked at how to stay safe and created a poster so that we could tell others how to stay safe. We looked at why we keep our pets indoors and spoke about how to use parklwrs safely. For art we used PVA and lots of sparkles and glitter to create amazing images of firework displays.   In term 2 the primary 5 playmakers from Miss Cassells class worked with us on a Tuesday morning. We have used this time to have some construction play,  learn to play hockey, have conversations about ourselves and play foodball. K
